Tyler Winklevoss is an American entrepreneur and investor who is the co-founder and CEO of Gemini, a leading cryptocurrency exchange and custodian platform that supports over 60 digital assets. He is also the founder and partner of Winklevoss Capital Management, a venture capital firm that invests in emerging technologies such as blockchain, NFTs, metaverse, and biotech.
Tyler has been a pioneer and advocate of the crypto industry ever since 2012, when he and his twin brother Cameron bought their first Bitcoin. Since then, they have amassed one of the largest Bitcoin portfolios in the world, estimated at over $6 billion as of May 2023. They have also launched several initiatives to promote crypto adoption and innovation, such as the Gemini Dollar (GUSD), the Gemini Credit Card, and Nifty Gateway.
Outside of entrepreneurship, Tyler is a passionate musician and former Olympic rower who competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with his brother Cameron.
