Steven Goldfeder is the co-founder and CEO of Offchain Labs, the company behind Arbitrum, which is a scalable, private, and secure platform for smart contracts. He is also a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell Tech, where he is part of the Initiative for Cryptocurrencies and Contracts (IC3), a research collaboration aiming to advance the science and applications of blockchain technology.
Goldfeder received his Ph.D. from Princeton University, where he was advised by Professor Arvind Narayanan. He was a member of the Security and Privacy Research Group, a CITP Graduate Student Fellow, and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. His research interests include cryptography, security, and privacy, especially as they relate to decentralized digital currencies.
Goldfeder is also a co-author of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies, the leading textbook on cryptocurrencies. He has published several papers on topics such as zero-knowledge proofs, threshold cryptography, post-quantum security, and blockchain analysis. He has also designed and implemented various cryptographic protocols and systems for enhancing the functionality and privacy of cryptocurrencies.
