Gavin Wood is a computer scientist and a crypto pioneer who is one of the co-founders of Ethereum. He wrote the Ethereum Yellow Paper, which formalized the Ethereum Virtual Machine, and invented Solidity, the most popular programming language for smart contracts. He also developed Proof-of-Authority consensus and Whisper, a peer-to-peer messaging protocol. Moreover, he is the creator and co-founder of Polkadot, a blockchain network that connects and secures different blockchains, enabling interoperability, scalability, and innovation.

Wood is also the founder of Parity Technologies, a company building blockchain infrastructure and tools.
