Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Monarch of Brunei, paid a surprise visit to the Royal Brunei Airlines campus on January 10. He was greeted at the campus by the authority, including Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Captain Sabirin bin Haji and others. The Sultan inspected all the nooks and corners of the learning centres starting with the Orchid Building, which serves as a centre for training and counselling for RB’s development. Further, he visited the Rose Building serving as the Finance Department, and the Simpur Building, which is used for Human Resource Management and internal audit.
The RB Campus has a vast infrastructure handled by 300+ staff. It encourages the open-office concept to promote unity and teamwork. The organisation presently operates 14 aircraft, including two Airbus A320CEOs, Airbus A320NEOs, and 5 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.
After completing the RB Campus navigation, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah scrutinised the Engineering section. The section comprises Base and Line maintenance operations to keep the setup going and growing.
The Sultan was seen conversing with the staff and authorities to know the whereabouts of operations. It was a part of his agenda to know about various units and educational setups operating in Brunei.
RB has been among the best regional airlines since the very beginning and has gained a seven-star rating from one of the leading airline rating organisations (www.airlineratings.com) while operating in COVID-19 conditions. It is popular for its hospitality and offers top-notch services on the go.
